Untemplater Value Proposition: The Key Benefits Of Reading Untemplater.com

February 18, 2013 By Sydney 14 Comments

Time flies when you’re having fun and working hard! I remember when I first started Untemplater I wasn’t even sure if I’d make it through the first two weeks!

I knew very little about the back end of running a website and didn’t think anyone would be interested in what I have to say. Fortunately, I’ve had a lot of help and support from my Yakezie network friends along the way, I’ve focused on quality content and building relationships, and Untemplater has been growing quite nicely. So THANK YOU to all of you loyal readers and friends who keep me going each day, and also a big welcome to all the new folks!

Today I hope to convince you why you should continue reading Untemplater for many years to come!

Positive Views And A Close Knit Community

I consider myself a glass half full type of gal. When I was a teenager however, I was a grumpy, self absorbed person who complained a lot. And you know what? It sucked! Later on I got so frustrated with myself, and realized I didn’t want to end up a lonely old woman with only cats for friends, that I began to change my mindset and slowly turned my life around.

Ever since I started recognizing the power of choices and change, my happiness meter started climbing. Life is much more fulfilling and happy when we genuinely appreciate what we already have and always strive to find the positives. I’ve had plenty of failures, mistakes, and disappointments in my life, but I’ve learned to face them head on and grow from those experiences. And I want to help you do the same because we can’t truly succeed if we haven’t experienced and overcome failure.

Untemplater is a positive and supportive community that stems from my values and beliefs. This is a place where it’s safe to be yourself. We are here to defeat our faults, reveal successes, share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another. I also have a zero tolerance policy for bullies because I’ve been a victim before, and no one should have to go through that. So when you’re here, you’ll always be amongst friends.

Effective Advice And Support

Untemplater covers a broad range of topics that benefit many lifestyles whether you’re in school, trying to find a job, dreaming of escaping a 70 hour workweek, living overseas, trying to start your own business, planning for an early retirement, etc. You’ll read articles that teach you how to improve your finances, enhance your relationships, increase your productivity, run a successful startup, build your career, travel the world, and more.

We can’t live a balanced life focusing on just one thing, which is why Untemplater has multiple categories that help you strengthen your mind, body, and spirit. It’s exciting having unique, uplifting, transitioning, and unconventional learning experiences that help define who we are and what we want out of life. And anytime you have questions or want to share your thoughts, it’s easy to post them in the comments section at the bottom of any article, or reach me over email using this contact form.

Both Female And Male Perspectives

Whether or not you believe men are from Mars and women are from Earth 🙂 , (haha just had to throw that in there) we all live on the same planet together. And while there are some topics and viewpoints that we may relate to more from a specific gender at times, I think it’s healthy and quite beneficial to regularly hear both female and male perspectives.

So, in addition to posts written by myself (a woman), Sam from Financial Samurai (a man) contributes articles on Untemplater frequently as well so you get a nice mixture of content. He is a well known personal finance guru and shares a lot of helpful advice on money matters, entrepreneurship, and business.

Personal, Real Life Content And Interviews

Both Sam and I write from the heart and aim to keep you engaged. There’s a lot of boring content out there in the web, and we don’t want any part of it! We share our own real life experiences and advice. So when you read our articles, you’ll hear our voices talking to you as if we’re sitting together over a cup of coffee or apple tea.

We also spotlight entrepreneurs and Untemplaters from all over the world and across a wide array of industries to share their knowledge, expertise, and experiences with us through interviews and featured articles. We’re all at various stages of our untemplate lifestyle journeys too so you benefit from more than one point of view.

Travel Tips, Adventures, And Photos

I LOVE to travel and fortunately have visited over 25 countries and counting. I’m not even sure how many cities and towns I’ve been to because I’ve lost track. It’s definitely in the hundreds though! I enjoy sharing travel tips in the mobile lifestyle category like How To Pack Smart because I love traveling light and find it takes all the stress out of traveling.

I also like sharing pictures and highlights from my travels to give you ideas and suggestions for your next trip or relocation. A few places I’ve written about that I loved are Istanbul, Turkey and Bruges, Belgium. I plan on posting more photos from my trips and adventures this year as well because there’s so much in the world to go see and do!

Recommendations

There are a lot of products and services out there and often it’s hard to know where to begin. If I come across something that I think is helpful to your untemplate journey, I’ll share it with you and tell you why I like it. You can also stop by my Recommendations page at any time, which I update periodically.

So there you have it, I hope you’re as excited about reading Untemplater.com as I am about having you here!

Sydney, I’d love to hear more about the story where you rescued Untemplater.com – at least Sam’s comment suggests that happened in the past. I do like what you (and Sam) write here because you challenge us and talk about your travels. My wife and I want to travel more and your insights into travel are proving valuable.

Here’s to your continued success here 🙂

🙂 That’s a good conversation over drinks…basically everyone left. I hope you get to do some more traveling in the coming years. 2012 was a hectic travel year for me, so this year feels different with just a few short trips in Q1. Thanks for your kind words!

These are all spot on! You’ve done a fantastic job with this site and providing content among a variety of topics. Truth be told, you are one of the blogs I look to as an example of where I want to be one day. Additionally like you point out you are cultivating a great community, I have been to other blogs where I feel like another number, but here you address everyone. Stand up job! Keep it up.

    Hi Sydney,

Nice work on creating your value proposition post. Every blogger should do the same and answer the, “Why?” every new and existing reader has.

As a man, I enjoy reading a woman’s perspective on many things you touch upon: career, travel, blogging, communications. I think it’s important we all try and seek diversity to further develop our own thought process.

I’m very glad you rescued Untemplater when you did, and I’m exciting to work with you to grow the site and the community over the coming years!

    Best,

    Sam

Thanks Sam! I’ve learned a lot from both the men and women in my life and career, and it’s been fantastic having your voice on Untemplater. Two years have gone really fast and I’m glad I’ve been able to learn a lot in the process and keep things going. Here’s to many more years of Untemplater fun!

I actually tend to read more female blogs, I like to get into the female physique and learn what goes through their minds. Maybe I am doing a little sociology work here. Most the guys I read have a similar voice, the women are quite different.

      Yes I am a guy 🙂

I never really thought about there being more diversity in the voices of female bloggers, but in thinking about it I’d agree with that amongst those that I read regularly. Perhaps it’s because the female blogs I read aren’t as PF focused and are more lifestyle oriented.
