I’m constantly amazed with how fast time flies. Here were are in late June with July just around the corner. Where did the first six months of the year go?! Those of you who’ve been following Untemplater for a while know that I am a photography addict and take pictures constantly of whatever catches my eye. Unfortunately my photo library is a complete mess, which I normally like to keep super organized. Since that’s low on my priority list right now, I wanted to at least help myself remember some memorable things from this year so far. So here we go, here are my last six months in pictures! (in random order)
Transformation of SF
If you build it they will come. San Francisco is changing dramatically. I can’t even count how many cranes I’ve seen over the last six months. Everywhere you look in the city, a new high rise or condo development is going up. The construction sites including the new Transbay center and underground transit system expansion have downtown traffic in constant gridlock. The population and density in SF is exploding. It’s exciting to see the city transform, but it’s also starting to get more crowded than I like.
Muir Woods
When you live somewhere, it’s easy to forget to enjoy all the incredible things the area has to offer. I hadn’t been to Muir Woods in years, and fortunately made it over there earlier this year. It’s such an incredible place to be able walk amongst giants.
Perfect Asparagus
Some of you know I am not much of a cook. I prefer eating out or ordering in, especially with my schedule. But I am proud of myself that I finally learned how to cook perfect asparagus lol. 🙂 This has come in handy because there’s always a great selection at the local farmers markets.
Golden State Warriors
I’m more of an artsy person than a sports fan, but I had a blast being able to go watch a lot of great GS Warriors games this year. I can’t wait for them to move to SF!
Learned How To Fix A Sink
We can learn how to do anything if we are determined enough. I was very proud of myself that I learned how to fix a sink this year – thank you youtube! It took me a couple trips to the hardware store, but I was successful in the end and look ma – no leaks!
Spent Easter With My Family
I had a great time over Easter spending time with my family and enjoying some festivities for kids like pony rides, bouncy castles, and rides. I’d forgotten how fun Easter egg hunts are! I also got to see some mama ducks with their little tiny babies – so cute!
Hiking the Bay Area
There are so many fantastic places to hike here, and they’ve helped me keep my sanity on many occasion. I went on lots of great hikes in Bernal Heights, Marin, the Presidio, Muir Woods, Lands End, etc.
New Bay Bridge
It was really exciting when they finally completed the new section of the Bay Bridge. I don’t know why some people were complaining that it’s ugly, I think it’s fantastic! After watching the construction for years, it was really cool being able to finally drive over it!
Time With Friends
I got to attend a few great get togethers with friends and boy am I lucky my friends love to cook! I don’t often spend enough time getting together with people because of my schedule, so I’m glad I was able to squeeze in some good times when I did.
Reconnected With My Parents
As I recently wrote, I’m really fortunate that I was able to reconnect with my parents this year. We took it easy and just hung out with each other, went on walks, drove to some state parks, spent time outdoors, ran errands together, and had some great meals together. My dad also made me the BEST breakfast I’ve ever had – ramps and scrambled eggs. OMG. I want more!

Those are some fantastic pictures! I used to be addicted to taking photos to document where I’ve been and what I’ve done, but I’m really slacking in that area lately. My biggest highlight of this year was finally moving and getting out of NY! This had been a goal of ours for a year and a half, it was just a matter of waiting for the right opportunity. I still can’t believe it happened.
