Those of us in the States recently celebrated Labor Day – the holiday to honor all those that work and have worked to make our country great. Typical celebrates take form as picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water sports, public art events, and much more.
This is a joyous time! But many often forget the true essence of the holiday – the recognition of hard work, courage, and determination, and greatness.
So we’ll do our part and ask you — what are you grateful for and honoring this (past) Labor Day? Or in other words, what’s your Labor Day Hooray?!

In the UK when you celebrate Labor Day we celebrate the end of summer and back to work! A shame for all those tied to desks and workbenches! May Day is the traditional holiday to celebrate the beauty of work and the sacrifices of those who have struggled to create the conditions for workers we have today. It is an old country holiday to celebrate the spring and new growth. The connection is appropriate and fitting. I think the difference with the US is that it’s not a holiday to celebrate the country but the workers.
