Untemplater Weekend Reading: Shatter Misconceptions Edition

January 30, 2010 By Untemplater 4 Comments

These are some reads that are either very related to the untemplate message or just plain awesome stuff.

This week we have topics we think we know about, but some misconceptions about those topics are shattered and revealed in these articles. One article is about standardized tests and horoscopes, another is about renting rather than buying. One article claims that fashion can be affordable (*gasp*) and another claims that long distance relationships work better nowadays (*double gasp*) because of better communication technology. Check these out:

Does Renting Make Sense? – J.D. Roth at Get Rich Slowly

J.D. over at Get Rich Slowly gives an honest look at whether renting may be a *better* financial choice than buying.  The results may surprise you!

Technology and Long Distance Relationships – Joseph Yi

A logical chat about how technology has affected long distance relationships.

Interview with Rising Star, Adam Baker of ManVsDebt – John Bardos at JetSetCitizen

The awesome John Bardos interviews our own Adam Baker about how personal finance relates to travel and online entrepreneurship, and about his travels with wife and child through Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand.

Great list! I’d also recommend Grace Boyle’s guest post on my blog! http://www.lostincheeseland.com/2010/01/importance-of-traveling-spontaneity.html

Thanks for sharing this link! What an amazing experience. Base jumping is one of the many things I’d eventually like to do at some point in my life too. :]
