Comment Policy

We here at Untemplater want to have a good discussion. After all, we talk about a lot of different topics from a wide range of folks. So naturally, not everyone is going to agree on things. Hell, the FOUNDERS don’t agree on everything (that Norcross guy is kind of a surly prick, for what it’s worth).
That being said, we still do have a general set of rules for comments. It’s not that we’re fascists or only want to promote a single idea. Really, it’s not. It’s because a few of you (commonly known as ‘trolls’ or ‘people who need to get a fucking life’) like to come in and pee in the comment pool, ruining it for every one. So we’ve got some ground rules to make sure everyone plays nice.
Here are the basics:
- Spam will be deleted – this is pretty straight forward. If you’re reading this, you probably aren’t spamming.
- Keep comments on topic – any comment that appears to be off-topic will be edited or deleted.
- No keywords in author names – we prefer that you use your real name or your normal nickname. If we suspect you’re using an author name to simply include targeted keywords, we’ll either edit or delete your comment.
- External linking – external links are ok, if they are relevant to the original post and your comment. Simply linking to your own site will be frowned upon.
- Racist Comments – None. Period. Leave them here and you’ll be banned, and potentially beaten if the opportunity arises.
- Profanity – we’re PG13 here. Moderate language is allowed, but we reserve the right to edit out anything offensive.
- Personal attacks – personal attacks on the authors or other commentators may result in an immediate ban.
- Editor’s right – While we encourage comments that challenge or offer constructed criticism, we reserve the right to edit or remove any post, for any reason.
Beyond that, we’re pretty open minded here. So jump in and join the conversation. Just don’t be an asshole about it.
